Louise Rice, RN, is Senior Director of Public Health and School Health Nursing for the Cambridge Public Health Department. She began her career as a Public Health Nurse at the Boston Department of Health and Hospitals 26 years ago, where she worked in Maternal/Child Health and Infectious Disease. She has worked for the AIDS Action Committee of Massachusetts and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. She is past Director of Research at Fenway Health and has worked nationally and internationally as a trainer and consultant on ethics and human subjects’ protection in research, behavioral health, and community-based HIV prevention interventions. In her current position, she oversees infectious disease response, immunization, community health education, and school health for the City of Cambridge. She is past president of the board of directors of Cambridge Cares About AIDS, where she served for 12 years.
