M. Jane Powers

Jane Powers, MSW, LICSW, is Executive Vice President for Fenway Health. Previously, Powers was both acting and interim CEO in 2019 and 2018. She was Fenway’s Director of Behavioral Health from 2013-2017, overseeing a staff of more than 70 therapists, social workers, addictions specialists, and LGBTQIA+ violence prevention experts. Powers has a clinical background in child, adolescent, and family therapy; she now works with clients of all age groups. In 2016-17, Powers was part of a five person faculty team in a year-long ECHO online learning community, Transforming LGBT Health in Primary Care, involving over 30 community health centers across the United States. She has subsequently presented at several national conferences about meeting the behavioral health needs of LGBTQIA+ people. She serves on the LGBT Task Force of the National Association of Community Health Centers.

Prior to joining Fenway Health in 2013, Powers was clinical director of a therapeutic school program for 20 years. She earned a Master of Social Work from Simmons College and her BA from Colby College. Powers has served on the Board of Trustees at Colby College since 2005 and is an avid cyclist, having participated in the Harbor to the Bay Ride since 2007, raising funds to benefit Fenway and other AIDS/HIV organizations.
