Since the 1980s, Fenway Health has been committed to helping families grow. From our Alternative Insemination Program to our expanded OB/GYN department, we’re proud to be there from conception through pregnancy to birth. Now, we’ve teamed up with Boston Baby Beginnings to aid expecting parents prepare for the challenges and joys of childbirth and beyond. Starting in July, Fenway’s 1340 Boylston Street location will offer classes on Prepared Childbirth Education and Baby Basics.
Boston Baby Beginnings offers skilled prenatal education for expectant families. Founded by Registered Nurse Raeanne Brazee, Boston Baby Beginnings aims to thoroughly educate parents-to-be on childbirth and baby care in classes that are affordable, flexible and concise. Boston Baby Beginnings instructors are all experienced professionals and experts in their fields.
As described by Boston Baby Beginnings, the Prepared Childbirth Education class incorporates everything you need to know from the early stages of labor up until leaving the hospital. You will learn about:

- Stages of labor
- Pain management options
- Partner participation during and after labor
- Basic breathing techniques
- Cesarean section
- Postpartum care and what to expect during the hospital stay
The Baby Basics class is “Parents-To-Be Survival Guide” that will help you navigate your first weeks at home with a new baby or babies. You will learn about:

- Diapering
- Swaddling techniques
- Bathing tips
- Feeding options
- Infant safety
- Newborn sleeping patterns
- Soothing techniques
- Choosing a pediatrician
- Home organization/preparation
