Melissa joined Fenway in 2011 as an intern and then returned in 2018 as a full-time staff person. Her areas of expertise include group work, CBT, mindfulness, solution-focused therapy, and crisis intervention. Clinical interests include coping with medical issues and chronic pain, the impact of homelessness on mental well-being, substance use, eating disorders, depression, persistent mental illness, women’s health, and LGBTQIA+ health.
Melissa completed a fellowship in social work with groups and an advanced certificate in group work practice. She is a professor at Simmons University, teaching Human Sexuality and Social Work; Social Work with Groups; and Alcohol, Drugs, and Social Work
