Adam Valsahagun joined Fenway Health in 2020. He obtained a Master of Social Work degree from Simmons University and Bachelor’s of Arts degrees, in Spanish and International Affairs, from Northern Arizona University. During his time in graduate school, Adam completed the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute-United Health Fellowship and Simmons’ SIMPACT Scholar program. Both programs provided him with additional training in interdisciplinary health models and clinical work with underserved communities. Adam completed clinical training at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Codman Square Health Center. His clinical interests include: LGBTQIA+ proficient care; intersections of identity; Trauma-informed care; PTSD and complex trauma work; culturally humble care; addiction care through a harm reduction lens. Adam provides strengths-based therapy in English and Spanish through an array of evidence-based approaches, including CBT, solution-focused, and psychodynamic. Originally from Phoenix, Arizona, Adam enjoys hiking and biking, trying new food recipes from around the globe, traveling abroad, socializing over food, and gardening.
