Sonia  joined the team during fall of 2017. Sonia holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from UMASS Boston, a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Cambridge College and a Doctorate in Counselor Education & Supervision from Argosy University. Sonia is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Massachusetts, and also holds Professional Licenses in Counseling and Addiction in the state of North Carolina (LPCS & LCAS-A).

In 2017, Sonia was a recipient of the NBCC Doctoral Minority Fellowship. She is also an Intensively Trained Dialectical Behavioral Therapist. Sonia has extensive experience working with and providing assessments for individuals who present with high acuity, struggle with emotions resulting from trauma or present with symptoms that interfere with one’s quality of life.

Sonia has provided services within the following setting: community based behavioral health, office based behavioral health, emergency room/crisis responses, residential, enhanced services, medicated assisted treatment and within the Department of Youth Services.
