Sophie Ricks has been a therapist at Fenway since 2014. She received her BA in English from Wesleyan University in 2005 and her Master of Social Work from Smith College School for Social Work in 2009. Prior to joining Fenway, Sophie completed two years of postgraduate training in Couples Therapy through the Psychoanalytic Couple and Family Institute of New England. She is also certified by the Sexuality Education Certification Series through the Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts. She completed Birthing Healthier Families: A Post-Graduate Certificate for Use of CBT for Perinatal Emotional Complications.
Sophie’s clinical interests include Addictions and Harm Reduction; Trauma; LGBT issues; Treatment of Mood and Anxiety Disorders; Sexuality and Sexual Health; Psychodynamic Therapy, Couples Therapy, Family Therapy, Group Therapy, the Impact of Medical Issues/Chronic Pain on Mental Health; the Impact of Homelessness on Mental Health; and perinatal emotional complications including post-partum depression and anxiety.
