Carl Streed Jr, MD, MPH, FACP

Carl Streed Jr, MD, MPH, FACP is an Adjunct Faculty member at The Fenway Institute. He is also a primary care clinician and Research Lead in the Center for Transgender Medicine and Surgery at Boston Medical Center and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Boston University School of Medicine.

As the Research Lead for the Center for Transgender Medicine and Surgery at Boston Medical Center he collaborates with researchers, clinicians, and staff to assess and address the health and well-being of transgender and gender diverse individuals. Carl’s areas of expertise include assessing and addressing inequities in preventive health care access and health outcomes across a variety of conditions affecting LGBTQ populations, including cardiovascular health. Nationally, he has chaired the American Medical Association Advisory Committee on LGBTQ Issues, served on the board of GLMA: Health Professionals Advancing LGBTQ Equality, and currently serves as the President-Elect of the US Professional Association for Transgender Health.
