Catherine D’Amato received the Dr. Susan M. Love Award at the 2011 Women’s Dinner Party.  Catherine is President and CEO of The Greater Boston Food Bank, New England’s largest hunger-relief organization.  She has been an advocate for the hungry for more than 25 years, working tirelessly to engage others in corporate and civic communities to support this important cause.  Catherine has been a long time supporter of Fenway and of Women’s Health.  Her work to help end hunger is especially important to the health of women and single mothers with families, groups that make up a disproportionate number of those lacking access to nutritious food.

Each year, the Dr. Susan M. Love Award is given to honor and celebrate a woman and/or organization that has made a significant contribution to the field of women’s health.  The Love Award is given in honor of its founding recipient, Dr. Susan M. Love, a pioneer in the fields of women’s health and breast cancer. Love helped found the Revlon/UCLA Breast Center in 1992 and currently heads up the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation which is dedicated to eradicating breast cancer.

Thank you to all of our Table Captains and Event Team, our corporate sponsors, Catherine D’Amato, Kate Clinton, DJ Mocha, our volunteers and everyone who attended the 2011 Women’s Dinner Party for helping to make the event a memorable evening.  And a special thanks goes out to Event Chairs Ann Rogers, M.Ed., An G. Hinds and Sheriff Andrea J. Cabral, whose hard work made the night possible. With your help, we exceeded the goal of our challenge and raised more than $53,000 at the event to support programming for LGBT young people and all together we raised nearly $300,000 in cash, pledges and in-kind support for life-saving Fenway Health services and programs.
