Following the release of the Massachusetts House of Representatives Ways and Means Committee’s annual budget last week, totaling just over $40.3 billion, deliberations are scheduled to begin Monday, April 24.

The Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers has filed three amendments on behalf of community health centers:

• Amendment #818: Community Health Centers, filed by Representative Livingstone, would increase Community Health Center rates by October 1, 2017 by eight (8) percent in FY18 and by no less than four (4) percent annually thereafter.

• Amendment #969: Community Health Center Primary Care Workforce Development and Loan Forgiveness Grant Program, filed by Representative Cassidy, would fund a primary care workforce development and loan forgiveness grant program at a level of $500,000.

• Amendment #1050: Infrastructure and Capacity Building Grants, filed by Representative Cronin, would direct $10 million in ICB funds to health centers.
