“Community and Collaboration”

Here at Fenway, you’re more than just an employee and we’re more than just a workplace. Whether you’re working hard on a new project, singing a capella with the FCHords, or gearing up for our annual Holiday Party, your Fenway family will continually lift you up and empower you to be your best self.

“The director of the BH department sent me a welcome email on my start date and made a point of finding me to see how I was settling in. Her warmth and caring reflects the best of Fenway.”- Meghan McGrath, Behavioral Health Specialist

“You do have to come to work and be a professional, but you can still have those pieces of you- your own personality can be in your daily life at work. It’s not like you have to come in the door and turn off part of yourself. You can genuinely be your own person, do your job, and people are supportive. You can be who you want to be.”– Lin Varnum, Dental Administrative Supervisor

“Living Our Mission”

Our mission is not just something to post on our website. We live it every single day with patients, employees, and anyone else who walks through our doors. This shared passion and understanding is infused into our work every day, as we strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all members of our community.

“The organization’s mission impacts my experience by accepting me as part of the LGBTQ community while providing the same leverage of care and support to all who come to Fenway as employee or patient.” – Eddie Martinez, Insurance Coordinator

“I can be open about who I am and openly talk to people about the care they receive here. I have a lot of capacity to do community organizing and it’s more integrated between departments than my last job.  ”- Tanekwah Hinds, Program Coordinator, Women’s Health Team

“Culture of Excellence”

We don’t shy away from hard work and we’re not afraid of being the best. Every member of our team contributes to our world class reputation and unparalleled commitment to the communities we serve. When you work at Fenway, the expectations are great but so are the rewards.

“It’s a tremendous organization to be a part of if you want to learn and grow and be a part of excellence.  I think excellence is a really important word. This is an excellent organization hiring excellent people to do excellent work.”- Philip Finch, Vice President of Communications

You can search for all open positions through our online Careers Portal. Once you have reviewed the qualifications and selected your desired position, you will be directed to create an account. After your account is created, continue to follow the portal instructions. Please answer all required questions and include any additional materials that are requested.

Can I submit my materials via mail or email?

No, all candidates must apply directly through our online Careers Portal.

What happens to my application after it’s submitted?

Completed applications will first be screened by Human Resources to ensure that all necessary qualifications are met. If you have met these requirements, we will forward your application to the hiring manager who will contact you if selected for an interview.

I’ve just completed my online application. Will a phone call or visit to HR help my chances?

Although we appreciate enthusiastic candidates, phone calls or visits will not elevate your chances of being hired. We encourage you only to contact us with questions and remind you that it can sometimes take significant time to hear back about your application.

Will I be contacted regardless of the hiring decision?

Once you’ve submitted your application through the Careers Portal, you will receive an automatic email confirming that your application has been received. If your profile does not match the minimum necessary qualifications or experience for a desired role, you will also be notified via an automatic email at that time. After this step in the process, further contact is at the discretion of the individual hiring managers. (Please note that we receive a high volume of applications and it will take at least 1-2 weeks for you to hear back about your application).

How competitive is your application process?

As a relatively small but continually growing community health center, we often receive a high volume of applications for a small pool of open positions. However, we make it a priority to carefully review each qualified applicant in order to find the best fit for each role.

I have previously applied for a position at Fenway Health. Is my information still saved on the portal?

Once you have created an account on our Careers Portal, you can continue to search and apply for jobs with your profile, however you must complete the application process for each individual position in which you are interested. Fenway Health was founded nearly fifty years ago to serve the LGBTQIA+ community, and to support and advance the health and well-being of the people in our community who count on us. Fenway’s Behavioral Health department has played a central role in that fight, serving as a beacon for hope and a source of healing and recovery for countless individuals.  To ensure that we deliver fully on our mission, we are committed to centering racial equity and other intersectional considerations in everything we do.

We are living in challenging times, and people everywhere – especially in BIPOC and other communities that are disproportionately impacted by health disparities – are experiencing heightened stress and other challenges to their health and well-being. The demand for Behavioral Health services at Fenway Health is unprecedented.

To meet the needs of our patients and community, we are excited to announce an expansion of our psychotherapy services to include a robust, permanent Behavioral Health Telehealth Service to carry us through and beyond the COVID pandemic crisis.  We are seeking five outstanding, committed psychotherapists with diverse lived experience to establish this service: a Coordinator of Behavioral Health Telehealth Services, and four Telehealth Psychotherapists.

The Coordinator of Behavioral Health Telehealth Services will assist in the development and oversight of the Behavioral Health Telehealth Service. Working remotely, this individual will assist in hiring remote based therapists to provide telehealth services, and collaborate with other department managers and supervisors to provide broader oversight and staff training for all of Behavioral Health’s remote telehealth services. The Coordinator of Behavioral Health Telehealth Services will also provide direct client care via telehealth, assist in linking clients to care, and provide clinical and administrative staff supervision.

The Telehealth Psychotherapists will provide telehealth clinical services to Behavioral Health clients. Working remotely, the Telehealth Psychotherapists will provide a broad range of psychotherapy care and services, including individual, couples and family therapy, group therapy, crisis intervention, and on-call coverage, to new and established clients.  They will provide access to care to new clients through intake and diagnostic evaluations.

Fenway Health employees enjoy a number of fantastic benefits, including a competitive salary, robust health insurance, generous 403(b) contribution matches, tuition and continuing education reimbursements, monthly trainings with CEUs, flexible work schedules, paid vacation and personal days, commuter discounts, and more. Behavioral Health Internships

For the past 20 years, Fenway’s Behavioral Health Department has trained graduate and post-doctoral students in the field of mental health and addiction services. Most students are placed at Fenway for the academic year, but occasionally we accept students for a summer block placement.

We utilize an interdisciplinary approach with our staff, which is comprised of social workers, mental health & HIV counselors, psychologists, psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses, victim advocates, substance abuse case managers/counselors, health promotion educators, and acupuncturists. Our theoretical orientation is predominantly psychodynamic; however, with active substance abuse and acute PTSD clients the emphasis may be on cognitive behavioral and psychoeducational approaches.
