BOSTON, December 6, 2023—The Fenway Health Board of Directors announced today that it selected Spencer Stuart to lead the process of finding a diverse slate of qualified candidates for consideration as the organization’s next CEO. The CEO search committee will be led by Board members Jennifer Chrisler and Brandon Greer and composed of fellow board members and Fenway staff.

“This is an important moment for our organization, and we’re confident that Spencer Stuart is the right partner to identify, recruit and hire the best possible CEO to lead Fenway into its next chapter,” Chrisler said.

Spencer Stuart specializes in finding and developing outstanding leaders and has helped healthcare organizations fill key leadership positions worldwide. The firm employs a proprietary data-driven evaluation process and other methods to assess candidates’ business and functional expertise, leadership abilities, character, motivation, cultural fit, and capacity to grow and change. Dr. Mark Furman, Dr. Gregory Vaughn and Wesley Yampolsky will run the search.

“The entire healthcare industry is at an inflection point where systems of service delivery, safety net funding, and workforce development are evolving rapidly,” Greer said. “Fenway Health’s next CEO will lead the organization through these historic changes while positioning Fenway to continue its global leadership in LGBTQIA+ and gender-affirming health care and research for decades to come.”

Spencer Stuart will lead stakeholder discussions through the beginning of the new year to develop a robust pool of candidates for consideration by the search committee. Interested candidates can learn more here.

Initial interviews will take place in late winter with a goal of announcing a new CEO to the public in the spring.

Interim CEO Manny Lopes, who will not be a candidate for the CEO position, will continue to lead the organization during the search process.
