Fenway Institute Awarded New HRSA Grant For HIV Prevention Services

The Division of Education and Training at The Fenway Institute has been awarded a new grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Bureau of Primary Health Care (BPHC) to lead technical assistance and implementation of HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and other HIV prevention services across the national health center program.

This grant is part of the new federal initiative entitled “Ending the HIV Epidemic: A Plan for America,” announced in February 2019. The Fenway Institute will conduct this work in close partnership with BPHC, primary care associations, and AIDS education and training centers, with a focus on regions in the U.S. disproportionately impacted by the HIV epidemic.

Alex Keuroghlian, Director of the Division of Education and Training, serves as Principal Investigator and will lead the project in partnership with Kevin Ard and Kenneth Mayer at The Fenway Institute.

“We are honored to expand our longstanding partnership with BPHC on this critical new initiative to end the HIV epidemic in the U.S., for which health centers across the country will play a central role,” Dr. Keuroghlian said.
