Fenway Health is proud to be an official partner in the 2026 Bank of America Boston Marathon® Official Charity Program. We are honored to have Michael Lazdowsky and Robyn Perry running on our behalf.

Below they both share the inspiration behind their decision to run the Boston Marathon to raise money for Fenway.

Michael Lazdowsky

I’m running the 2026 Boston Marathon as a proud member of Team Fenway, fulfilling a lifelong goal shaped by growing up in and around Boston. From an early age, Marathon Monday (Patriots’ Day) was one of my favorite days of the year and felt uniquely “Boston”. It blends American history, local tradition, and collective pride into a single day. Many years, I would start the morning at a Red Sox game and then head toward the finish line to watch runners push through the final miles.

Over the years, I cheered on family members and friends who ran the Boston Marathon, standing near the course and imagining what it would feel like to take on the challenge myself. Watching their determination, exhaustion, and pride as they crossed the finish line left a lasting impression and fueled a personal drive to one day be part of the race.

Training for the Boston Marathon represents more than a physical challenge, it’s a commitment to perseverance, discipline, and following through on a dream that’s been years in the making.

I’m proud to be running the Boston Marathon this year to help raise funds for Fenway Health, an organization that has been a cornerstone of inclusive, affirming health care in our community for more than 50 years. Fenway Health advocates for and delivers innovative, equitable, and accessible health care, along with supportive services, transformative research, and education. The organization centers LGBTQIA+ people, BIPOC individuals, and other underserved communities to help local, national, and global neighbors flourish.

Your donation, in any amount, directly supports Fenway Health’s ability to continue delivering essential services, advancing health equity, and strengthening the well-being of our community. Thank you for supporting this important work and for helping make a lasting impact through Fenway Health.

Robyn Perry

Hello! I’m Robyn, and I’ve been a therapist at Fenway Health for about 2.5 years. I’m so excited to be running the Boston Marathon for Team Fenway this year!

I’m originally from Florida and moved to Boston in 2020 to earn my Master’s in Social Work from Simmons University. I grew up running cross country and swimming competitively, and ran my first marathon in October 2024! It was such an incredible experience that I knew I wanted to keep running. Fun fact: this also made me the final person in my family to complete a marathon!

As a therapist at Fenway, much of my work focuses on helping clients recognize their inherent strength and celebrate their ability to overcome challenges. I love marathons for the same reason: they teach us to trust ourselves to accomplish things that once seemed impossible, and to believe that we can persevere through difficulty.Running the Boston Marathon is truly a dream come true, and I’m incredibly grateful to Fenway for this opportunity and the chance to run in support of our community.

Both of our runners have committed to raising at least $10,000 to support life-changing care and services at Fenway Health. Marathon Monday is almost four months away, so there is still plenty of time to support our runners’ fundraising efforts. If you would like to make a gift in support of Team Fenway, you can do that here. We thank everyone for your generous support!
