Amelia Stanton, PhD

Amelia Stanton, PhD is an Adjunct Faculty member and Clinical Health Psychologist at The Fenway Institute. She is also an Assistant Professor of Psychological and Brain Sciences at Boston University.

Amelia is Principal Investigator at The Sexual, Reproductive, and Mental Health Disparities Program at Boston University. She also maintains a research appointment at Massachusetts General Hospital, where she completed her pre-doctoral internship and her postdoctoral fellowship in global psychiatry within the Behavioral Medicine Program.

Her work primarily focuses on designing and testing interventions that mitigate both sexual and mental health disparities and improve engagement in care among women with HIV, women at risk for HIV, and other marginalized or minoritized populations, including transgender and gender diverse individuals. She conducts research domestically and internationally in resource-limited settings with high HIV prevalence rates.
