Why I Give: YLC Member Mitchell Thomas

“I love to say that I married into the Fenway family. I first got involved with Fenway because my boyfriend – now husband – was a member of the Young Leaders Council. After attending The Dinner Party in 2015, I officially joined the YLC too.

As much fun as I have at Fenway events, what really drew me to the organization is the commitment to providing world class healthcare services to LGBTQIA+ folks – especially those with lower incomes and people of color – because there is so much overlap between those communities. I particularly appreciate that the YLC has a low cost barrier to entry – as low as $10 a month – to get younger people engaged in giving and foster community around a shared sense of duty.” – Mitchell Thomas, YLC member

The Young Leaders Council (YLC) is an initiative of Fenway Health to empower emerging LGBTQ+ leaders and allies to shape their community’s future. YLC donors are individuals in their 20s and 30s who are dedicated to advancing Fenway’s mission through special events, programming, and philanthropy. At Fenway Health, we are incredibly grateful every day for the support of YLC donors like Mitchell. They are beloved members of our Fenway Family, and their support helps us continue providing world class health care, programming, and research. We will always be there for our community and for everyone who walks through our doors. Please consider donating to Fenway Health today and becoming part of this legacy of giving.
