The past five months have brought unprecedented challenges in public health. While the global COVID-19 pandemic continues, Fenway Health also continues to rise to these challenges and find new ways of delivering the high quality care that our community deserves.
Since March, we have greatly expanded our Telehealth capabilities to allow more patients to be seen from the safety of their homes. We’ve also launched walk-through and drive-through COVID-19 testing at our 1340 Boylston St. location and across the city of Everett. And our ACCESS: Drug User Health Program team has gone mobile to deliver Narcan, safer injection supplies, and other lifesaving harm reduction items across the greater Boston area.
Fenway Health is incredibly proud of our dedicated staff members, who truly are our every day heroes and have worked so hard to keep our patients and community safe and healthy during these trying times. Here are just some examples of their tireless efforts throughout the pandemic:
- As of July 21, Fenway Health’s Boston COVID-19 testing site performed 954 tests, and our Everett COVID-19 testing site performed 280 tests.
- Fenway Health has completed over 45,000 Telehealth patient appointments since March 16. Over 3,000 of those have been through our Behavioral Health department, with individual patient and group therapy needs continuing to be met.
- The Fenway Health Pharmacy has filled over 60,000 prescriptions since March 16, with most being mailed directly to patient homes.
- Our ACCESS team has distributed over 86,000 new needles, over 3,000 doses of Narcan, and over 700 face masks to clients in 11 different Boston area communities.
We are so grateful for the amazing work of our staff members, who have made it possible for Fenway Health to continue to deliver care throughout these difficult months.
