Hepatitis A & B

Updated March 27, 2024

Gay and bisexual men and transgender women are at greater risk for Hepatitis A & B infection than the general population. But there is good news: vaccines are available to protect you against these diseases that cause infection and inflammation of the liver. Talk to your health care provider about getting vaccinated, or about possibly getting a booster if you were vaccinated in the past. Learn more by reading the prevention education materials and issue briefs linked here from The Fenway Institute and MPact: Global Action for Gay Men’s Health and Right’s.

This project is supported by Glaxo Smith Kline, which manufactures Hepatitis A & B vaccines.
