July 30, 2019 – Fenway Health is excited to celebrate National Health Center Week 2019, which runs from August 4 to August 10. Started by the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC), this week is a time to both educate about the important work of community health centers and celebrate our vibrant communities through fun programming.
According to NACHC, community health centers serve 28 million Americans at more than 9,000 delivery sites in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and U.S. territories. In the United States, one out of 15 people get their care at community health centers. Health centers, including Fenway Health, provide critical services to all people, regardless of their ability to pay or insurance status, making them anchors of their communities.
This year’s National Health Center Week theme is “America’s Health Centers: Rooted in Communities,” which highlights the history and positive impact of health centers on their communities.
Here at Fenway Health, we have some exciting events planned at our 1340 Boylston St. main offices to mark National Health Center Week:
On Tuesday, August 6, we’ll be going live on the official Fenway Health Twitter account from 11:00 AM to noon to answer all your questions about Fenway Health. Tweet at us to learn more about our programs and services, history, research studies, and upcoming events – or just say hi!
On Wednesday, August 7 from 2-4 PM, we invite you to visit our community outreach booths right outside 1340 Boylston St. Fenway staff will be joined by our friends from Commonwealth Care, United Health Care Group, and Mass Health. Stop by to learn more about our programs and services here at Fenway Health, get helpful insurance information, and find out how to take advantage of the many health care options available for you. There will be free giveaways, cold water for all, and great music.
We hope you’ll join us for these fun National Health Center Week events. Thank you for being part of our community!
