Following up on a commitment to hearing from staff and working together for positive change, the Fenway Health Board of Directors recently completed a series of Listening Sessions with Fenway Health staff to hear staff thoughts on what brought them to Fenway Health, how the organization is working now, and how Fenway Health can grow continue to improve as both a community health center and a place to work. Held over a period of three weeks in January, the Board visited four different Fenway Health locations taking part in 9 different meetings with staff. Meetings were scheduled at a range of times to enable as many staff members as possible to participate.
Multiple board members attended each session. During the sessions, staff attendees were encouraged to share what they liked about working at Fenway Health and where there are areas for improvement. Staff turnout was strong with almost 170 people participating.
Board members Jenn Jones and John Wolfarth helped organize and facilitate the listening session tour and are working on compiling the feedback from the sessions into a report to be shared with the Board and staff in February. The report will identify several areas for positive change that will be incorporated into the workplace in the coming weeks and months.
