Sidney Borum, Jr. Health Program To Reopen September 7

After temporarily closing in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Sidney Borum, Jr. Health Program is excited to announce that we will be reopening our doors at 75 Kneeland St. in Chinatown on Tuesday, September 7. Our operating hours will be Mondays – Thursdays from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and Fridays from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Please check our web page for any updates as September 7 draws closer.

Despite the challenges of the past year and a half, which were compounded by the closure of the physical Borum space, Borum staff members rose to the occasion to continue treating our patients and clients. The Borum Medical team saw patients through video telehealth appointments and in person at Fenway: South End and 1340 Boylston Street, while the Borum Behavioral Health Team saw clients through telehealth. We’re happy to report that we were even able to continue welcoming new patients in both departments! Borum patients will still be able to access care at any Fenway Health facility, but please note that to move your care permanently to 1340 or Fenway: South End, you will need to switch providers.

“It’s nice to be back home,” said Dr. Ralph Vetters Site Medical Director at the Borum. “I felt like I was able to keep in touch with all my patients over the last year; they were great being flexible with telehealth at first and then later with the restrictions on in-person visits. We’re going to continue to have a combination of in-person and telehealth appointments; it’s a formula that lets us see patients quicker while still allowing us to do essential physicals, vaccines, testing, and treatments. But being back at 75 Kneeland means we’re bringing our team – patient services, behavioral health, and medical – together again in the way that we felt made us special to our patient community and allowed us to better meet the particular needs of adolescents and young adults.”

We’d like to thank our patients and clients for their flexibility since March 2020, and our wonderful staff for rising to the challenges we faced to continue providing outstanding care. We look forward to seeing you in person soon!
