Fenway Health is excited to join in the nationwide celebration of America’s 1,400 community health centers (CHCs) during National Health Center Week 2024, which takes place August 4-10. This annual event is a time to honor the vital contributions CHCs make to public health, providing quality, comprehensive healthcare services to over 31.5 million patients across nearly 15,000 communities each year in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and US territories. In the United States, one out of 15 people get their care at CHCs.
This year’s theme, “Powering Communities Through Caring Connections,” emphasizes the importance of connecting communities with health centers that can provide quality care that meets the cultural needs of the communities they serve.
For over 50 years, Fenway Health has delivered innovative, equitable, accessible health care, supportive services, and transformative research and education with a focus on LGBTQIA+ people, BIPOC individuals, people living with HIV, and other underserved communities.
We offer professional development and training for health care centers, systems, and hospitals around the country seeking to improve their delivery of LGBTQIA+ health care. We also conduct original research through The Fenway Institute that brings new knowledge the field and designs and implements public health initiatives to meet existing and newly emerging health care needs of LGBTQIA+ people, BIPOC individuals, people living with HIV, and other underserved communities.
Tabling on Boylston Street

Honoring staff
We will also host a gathering on Wednesday, August 7, to recognize our staff. Their dedication, talent, and passion are the heart and soul of our work. We’ll have refreshments, music, door prizes, and games like cornhole, frisbee, three-legged races, and a water balloon toss.
