We are excited to announce that Coco Alinsug, Fenway Health Outreach and Enrollment Manager, has been re-elected for another term as U.S. co-chair of the Global Community Advisory Board (CAB) at the HIV Vaccine Trials Network/COVID-19 Prevention Network.
CAB members are a diverse group of volunteers that together provide community input into study design and local procedures. These volunteers include community activists and/or professionals associated with vaccine research, HIV/AlDS prevention and services delivery. CAB members assist in the planning, development, and implementation of HVTN vaccine research; assess community impact and ensure community concerns are considered; and serve as a voice for the community and study participants.
The Global CAB advises the HVTN’s leadership and is led by U.S. and International Co-chairs, who each serve 3-year terms. Likhapha (Monica) Faku of South Africa has been elected co-chair for International sites.
“I am honored to be re-elected and continue representing the USA in this very important group,” said Alinsug. “It’s wonderful to be able to serve our community and the whole world, especially now as we face the challenges of the pandemic and work to support vaccine research.”
Please join us in congratulating Coco!
