DPH Vaccines for Children Program Visits Fenway Health

Fenway Health is pleased to report that we recently had a very successful site visit from the Department of Public Health (DPH) Vaccines for Children program. The DPH staff who visited stated that Fenway’s vaccine management is among the best they’ve seen at community health centers. DPH found no compliance issues that needed to be addressed, which is wonderful news.

The Vaccines for Children Program (VFC) is a federally funded program through the CDC that provides vaccines free of charge to children who otherwise may not have been able to afford the vaccines. VFC was created in 1993 as a new entitlement program to be a required part of each state’s Medicaid plan.

Since the last DPH VFC visit several years ago, Fenway Health’s staff has worked diligently to perfect our VFC program, and that hard work has paid off. We’d like to give special recognition and thanks to Sofia Marrow, LPN, who oversees the DPH vaccine program at our 1340 Boylston St. offices.
