The Fenway Institute is thrilled to announce that Alex S. Keuroghlian, MD, MPH, Director of Education and Training Programs, has been selected by the Harvard Medical School Psychiatry Executive Committee as a recipient of the 2018 Jonathan F. Borus Outstanding Early Career Educator Award.
Since 2011, The Jonathan F. Borus Outstanding Early Career Educator Award in medical student education has been awarded to a junior faculty member at Harvard Medical School who has demonstrated exceptional promise, initiative and commitment in the area of psychiatric education. The award is named in honor of Jonathan F. Borus MD, the Stanley Cobb Distinguished Professor of Psychiatry, Emeritus Chair of Psychiatry at the Brigham and Women’s and Faulkner Hospitals, Director of Medical Education at BWH and Co-Chair of the Partners Education Committee.
“Harvard medical students and residents are increasingly eager for immersive training in LGBTQ mental health care,” said Dr. Keuroghlian. “Fenway Health’s Behavioral Health Department continues to provide an ideal setting for emerging physician leaders to learn the nuances of psychiatric care for sexual and gender minority people.”
Dr. Keuroghlian will receive the award at the Harvard Medical School Symposium on Medical Student Education in Psychiatry at the Harvard Faculty Club on April 26.
Please join us in congratulating Dr. Keuroghlian on this well deserved recognition of his contributions to medical education!
