Dr. Karen Kelly Named Medical Director Of Fenway Health Family Medicine

We are pleased to announce that, effective this week, Dr. Karen Kelly has been promoted to the position of Medical Director of our Family Medicine Program. Dr. Kelly has served as the Lead Physician for the 3rd floor at 1340 for the past six years and will continue in this role, in addition to her new duties.

Both Dr. Kelly and Dr. Ethan Brackett, Site Medical Director at Fenway: South End, have done a great job of co-leading Fenway Health’s efforts to build and grow the Family Medicine Program over the past decade. The Family Medicine Program now cares for almost 600 children under the age of 12, in addition to thousands of adolescents and adults, all under a framework of caring for individuals in the context of the family and the community of which they are a part. In her new role, Dr. Kelly will work closely with leadership across Fenway Health to ensure the continued growth and success of our Family Medicine Program.

“It is with a great sense of excitement and optimism that I accept the position of Medical Director of Family Medicine, Dr. Kelly said. “I am incredibly proud of the Family Medicine program and I look forward to working within Fenway and with our community at large to expand and strengthen the services and care that we offer.”

Dr. Kelly is a graduate of both Georgetown University School of Medicine and the Georgetown University Family Medicine Residency Program, and she is a Clinical Instructor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Prior to joining Fenway Health in 2014, Dr. Kelly was an Assistant Professor at Boston University School of Medicine, where she was the course director for two medical school courses and saw patients at Boston Medical Center and East Boston Neighborhood Health Center.

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Kelly!
