BOSTON, MA, November 16, 2022 – Effective December 1, 2022, Fenway Health will join 12 Massachusetts-based Federally Qualified Health Centers in coordination with the Community Technology Cooperative (CTC) to transition our electronic health record system to Epic. “We are excited to implement this best-in-class, secure patient-centered platform,” said Fenway Health Chief Executive Officer Ellen LaPointe. “It will provide robust tools and resources to improve documentation and care integration for providers, while empowering our clients and patients to take a more active role in their health and health care. This will result in improved patient care and outcomes, better care coordination and enhanced care team experience, and efficient operations.”
Electron Health Records (EHRs) play a critical role in supporting better care, patient engagement and reducing health disparities, particularly for underserved populations. “Fenway Health has collaborated with Epic on LGBTQIA+ health information technology initiatives,” said Fenway’s Chief Information Officer Chris Grasso. “Epic has demonstrated a commitment to developing a product that supports culturally responsive care for the LGBTQIA+ community. We look forward to our continued collaborations with Epic.”
