Will Giordano-Perez, Fenway Health's Chief Medical Officer

Fenway Health is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Will Giordano-Perez, MD, MBA, as its new Chief Medical Officer (CMO), effective March 2025. Dr. Giordano-Perez brings a wealth of experience in clinical leadership, health equity advocacy, and global public health innovation. He will oversee Fenway Health’s Medical, Nursing, Reproductive Health, Behavioral Health, Dental and Optometry departments, and Public Health division, guiding the organization’s efforts to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care and services to diverse communities.

Dr. Giordano-Perez currently serves as the Chief Medical Officer at CCI Health Services, where he has spearheaded transformative changes in clinical operations, improved patient outcomes, and expanded access to care for historically underserved populations. His leadership has been instrumental in establishing Maryland’s first Center for Sexual and Gender Minority Health, overseeing the state’s largest refugee health assessment program, and integrating vital services such as same-day PrEP, gender-affirming care, and treatment for substance use disorders.

“Health equity isn’t just a goal, it’s a responsibility. Fenway Health has a remarkable legacy of advocacy, innovation, and clinical excellence,” said Dr. Giordano-Perez. “I am honored to join this incredible team and look forward to advancing care that reflects and honors the diversity of the communities we serve.”

Dr. Giordano-Perez’s commitment to health equity extends globally. Earlier in his career, he spent nearly a decade in Haiti developing public health programs aimed at reducing the prevalence of HIV, tuberculosis, and malaria. He also worked in Laos with Oregon Health & Science University and the country’s Ministry of Health to establish a national institute for nutrition science, training, and clinical care.

In addition to his global work, Dr. Giordano-Perez has held key leadership roles in community health settings. As the Chief Medical Officer of Tri-County Community Action Agency in Rhode Island, he expanded HIV and Hepatitis C treatment and launched the state’s first free same-day PrEP program. He has also served as Interim Chief Medical Officer for Integrated Health Partners, where he led quality improvement initiatives that enhanced patient access while reducing healthcare costs.

Dr. Giordano-Perez earned his medical degree from the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, completed his family medicine residency at Oregon Health & Science University, and holds a dual-international MBA from Brown University and IE Business School in Madrid, Spain.

“We are beyond excited to welcome Dr. Giordano-Perez to Fenway Health. His dedication to health equity, transformative leadership, and passion for serving diverse communities will be invaluable as we continue our mission to provide exceptional, affirming, stigma-free care,” said Jordina Shanks, CEO of Fenway Health.

Dr. Giordano-Perez will play a crucial role in growing Fenway Health’s services, adopting innovative clinical practices, and strengthening community partnerships. His leadership will ensure that Fenway Health continues to excel in LGBTQIA+ and HIV care, while expanding its reach and impact on those most marginalized and vulnerable among us.
