Fenway Health Appoints Rob Swann as new Chief Operating Officer

Fenway Health COO Rob Swann

Fenway Health is exited to share the news that we have hired Rob Swann as our Chief Operating Officer. In this role, Rob will oversee health center operations, outsourced services at C3, including pharmacy, IT, data analytics, and Epic, and will work with leaders and staff across the organization to advance our strategic priorities and goals. Rob will start on December 2.

He comes to Fenway from Outer Cape Health Services where he oversaw operations of their health centers and their specialty service lines serving 20,000 patients, including many LGBTQIA+ people. Before that, he was VP of Operations for Southcoast Health System in New Bedford, which operates 3 hospitals, a 450-member physician network, and 55 service locations.

“I am excited about the depth and breadth of knowledge and experience Rob brings to Fenway and his reputation as a highly visible, thoughtful and collaborative leader who engenders trust and centers the needs of patients and the community,” said Fenway Health CEO Jordina Shanks.

Rob began his health care career as an RN and has held a number of progressive management roles over the past 20+ years with a background in primary care, gender-affirming care, inpatient and outpatient services, emergency services, urgent care, walk-in clinics, and labor relations with SEIU and MNA.  He is passionate about leading teams with a focus on retention to achieve high quality outcomes and provide exemplary patient and family experience. All of these qualities position him well to lead the work ahead here at Fenway Health.

A native of Western New York and former Boston resident, Rob is excited to return to Boston with his husband Daniel and join the Fenway Health community.
