Fenway Health’s CEO Search Committee is happy to report that there has been significant progress in the search process since our most recent update to you. The Search Committee worked closely with Fenway’s search firm, Spencer Stuart, and made over 450 connections with referral sources or candidates. Throughout the summer, the Search Committee Co-Chairs and the Spencer Stuart team reviewed the candidate pool, narrowing the list to a smaller group that was reviewed by the entire CEO Search Committee.
The pool was extremely strong, with candidates providing an impressive array of diverse experiences and backgrounds across clinical management, academia, advocacy, and public health. The candidates repeatedly discussed how they were honored to be considered for such a well-known institution with local and global reach. Some said they were not looking to change their jobs, but when Fenway called, they were compelled to answer.
The Search Committee reviewed and selected the strongest candidates for the first round of interviews. After considerable time with these first-round candidates, the committee selected finalists from diverse backgrounds, each of whom enthusiastically accepted invitations to undergo extensive interviews with the entire Board of Directors.
The Search Committee and Board remain on track with our timing expectations. We are moving quickly where able, but are focused first and foremost on finding the right person for Fenway. We will continue to share as much information about the search as possible with all stakeholders while respecting candidate confidentiality. We appreciate your patience and interest.
