A new infographic on the Fenway Health website highlights the great diversity of our vibrant patient population. At Fenway Health, we take great pride in serving everyone from our communities, regardless of their ability to pay. When you walk through our doors, you’re part of the Fenway family.
As the infographic shows, we saw nearly 32,000 patients last year, a 300 percent increase from 2007. While most of these patients (56 percent) come from the Boston area, 1,200 live outside Massachusetts. All together, our patients represent over 1,000 zip codes!
Fenway’s patients also identify with a wide range of genders, sexual orientations, and racial and ethnic backgrounds. For example, 35 percent of our patients identify as straight, while 38 percent identify as lesbian, gay, or bisexual. Ten percent of our patients fall under the transgender and gender expansive umbrella. Seven percent identify as black/African American, 10 percent as Asian, and 10 percent as Hispanic/Latinx. Our patients speaks dozens of languages, including Spanish, Vietnamese, Arabic, Chinese, French Creole, and American Sign Language.
