The Fenway Institute is pleased to announce that Alex S. Keuroghlian MD, MPH, Director of Education and Training Programs, has been selected to receive a 2017 National Institute of Health (NIH) Clinical Center CEO Award for his work on the Gender Identity Affirmation Initiative Team. The award, which is under the Quality of Worklife/Diversity category, is in recognition of exceptional efforts in development of a gender identity affirmation program. That critical work included the development of a training program for NIH staff and tracking mechanism in the Clinical Research Information System (CRIS).

Dr. Keuroghlian will be presented with the award at the NIH Clinical Center CEO Awards Ceremony on Friday, December 15, 2017.

“We commend the NIH Clinical Center’s leadership for its commitment to the Gender Identity Affirmation Initiative, with live and digital staff trainings, electronic health record re-design, and policy changes, to ensure that clinical trials and care at the NIH are inclusive of transgender participants and patients moving forward,” said Dr. Keuroghlian.

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Keuroghlian on this well-deserved honor.
