Here at Fenway Health, our shared values are the core of our work each and every day. As we continue to implement our Strategic Plan and Racial Equity Action Plan (REAP), announced in June, we will engage with internal and external stakeholders with a “Value of the Month.” This month’s value is JUSTICE.
Justice means that we believe every person is entitled to the same rights, access to power and resources, opportunity to live the life of their choosing, and respect.
The people who founded Fenway Health in 1971 had a belief: that health care is a right, not a privilege. Health justice means that no one should ever be denied access to the highest quality health care because of their race, ethnicity, sex, age, language, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, ability, or socioeconomic reality. For the past 50 years, we have made that belief the core of our work. We center LGBTQIA+ people, BIPOC individuals, and other underserved communities to enable our local, national, and global neighbors to flourish.
