Brian Bakofen, DO, has been a primary care physician at Fenway Health since 2011. Dr. Bakofen graduated from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed both his internship and residency in internal medicine at POH Medical Center in Pontiac, MI. Prior to joining Fenway Health, Dr. Bakofen gained clinical experience working in primary care at Beth Israel Deaconess Health Care. He also worked for many years as an urgent care provider at East Boston Neighborhood Health Care. His clinical interests include Primary Care, Internal Medicine, LGBTQIA+ Health, HIV/AIDS, and Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT).
When not in the clinic, Dr. Bakofen enjoys participating in community theater and exercising his vocal music talents.
