The national search for a new permanent Fenway Health CEO is well underway, and we’d like to update our community on our progress in filling this critical leadership position.
Our Board of Directors has finalized and approved the CEO job description and requirements. A diverse formal Search Committee, comprised of Fenway Health staff, Board members and community representatives, has been formed to aid in the hiring process. Committee members include Benjamin Perkins, MA, MDiv (Co-Chair); Lisa Paine, CNM, DrPH (Co-Chair); Joseph Castellana, PhD; Kimella Dixon, RN; and Tfawa Haynes, LICSW; Jonathan Matsui, PhD; and Jennifer Potter, MD.
The Board and Search Committee have been working with search firm Heidrick & Struggles to identify, develop, and assess a diverse slate of candidates who meet the criteria established by the position description. There has been a very enthusiastic response to this position. Heidrick & Struggles believes this is a result of Fenway Health’s strong reputation nationally and globally.
The Search Committee has held bi-weekly progress calls with Heidrick & Struggles to review the backgrounds of potential candidates. This has helped to hone the key criteria we are looking for, and will lead to the development of a finalist slate of candidates. The Search Committee will be meeting with finalist candidates early this fall for in-person interviews. After assessing these candidates, the Search Committee will make a final candidate recommendation to the Board.
We’d like to thank our staff, patients, and community for their patience during this search process. We will continue to send updates as we move closer to selecting a permanent CEO.
