Fenway Health keeps the safety and wellbeing of our patients and staff at the center of all our work. For this reason, we constantly monitor the local and statewide levels of respiratory conditions like COVID, influenza and RSV. We are seeing a sharp rise in COVID cases in the greater Boston area. Influenza cases and other respiratory illnesses are also starting to rise. Due to this rise, Fenway Health is updating our masking procedures to better protect our patients, visitors, and staff.
Patients, Clients, and Visitors
All patients who have upper respiratory complaints will continue to be required to mask, using a mask provided by Fenway Health. Masks are available at the front entrance of Fenway Health locations. If you are symptomatic, your visit may be updated to a telehealth visit.
All other patients and visitors are encouraged but not required to mask for visits even if they do not have symptoms, again using a mask provided by Fenway Health. This will be done at entry to our sites or patient check-in.
Fenway Health Staff
All staff working directly with patients or clients in exam rooms, consultation rooms or the lab and those working closely with patients in public areas (like the optical shop) will be masked while with patients. Eye protection may also be worn as needed.
Handwashing
All Fenway Health staff and visitors are encouraged to regularly wash their hands with warm soapy water or to apply an alcohol-based hand sanitizer. Hand sanitizer stations are located throughout Fenway Health facilities.
Experiencing Respiratory Symptoms?
If you are experiencing respiratory symptoms, please notify your care team and put on a mask as soon as you arrive for your visit. Masks are available at the front entrance of Fenway Health locations.
We appreciate your understanding as we all work together to keep each other and our community healthy and safe.
